Description
A vintage Armagnac from Chateau de Laballe in Landais, at the heart of Bas Armagnac, owned by the Laudet family. The unique sandy terroir of Les Sables Fauves, wood-fired distillation, and ageing in Landes oak barrels bring finesse and roundness to the final product that is undoubtedly Laballe. Made with 100% Ugni Blanc grapes, the 1989-vintage draws you in with aromas of rich coffee, butter, rancio, and cinnamon that open up to leather after aeration. On the palate, the presence of alcohol quickly rounds up to notes of undergrowth, old leather, and hummus that gently lead to a spicy sweetness with grilled coffee. Serve after dinner by itself or pair with chamomile.
