Description
For connoisseurs keen to buy extra-brut oak-aged Champagne, Germar Breton’s Fût de Chêne is the ultimate expression of barrel-matured finesse.
With only 3 g/L dosage, the wine’s natural aromas – white flowers, caramelised oak and toasted nuts – shine through, making it an unforgettable tasting experience.
Winemaking: After stainless steel first fermentation, the blend moves to oak for 12 months before bottling and a further 18 months on lees in bottle. Blending 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir, the barrels impart vanilla and honeyed complexity.
Pairing Suggestions: Foie gras, sautéed mushrooms or aged Comté
Tasting Note: Brilliant gold, pronounced vanilla and honey on the nose, and a generous palate of almond paste, white flowers and subtle spice.
Origin: Côte des Bar, Champagne, France
Alcohol: 12.5%
Blend: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
